Location & Program:Amarillo, Texas – IDD Crisis Respite
Salary Range:
Salary: $15.66/hr
Shift Available: Full-time
Shift Available: Mon – Fri from 10 pm – 6 am; rotating days off
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
- Performs direct care for consumers diagnosed with Intellectual Developmental Disorders (IDD) in a residential setting
- Responsibilities will include transporting, preparations of meals, feedings, bathing, toileting, medication administration, maintaining a safe and clean environment and other duties associated with daily living
- Adheres to TPC Code of Conduct and reports concerns of ethical and/or business standards defined in code if compromised
Required qualifications to be successful in the job:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of eighth grade reading-comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test; or
- One semester (12 semester hours) of accredited college work
- Six (6) months to one (1) year of work experience assisting in therapeutic activities
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Some experience working with individuals with IDD diagnoses
