Direct Support Professional V (Direct Care) IDD Crisis Respite [0641] E

Salary Range:

Salary: $15.66/hr

Shift Available: Full-time

Shift Available: Mon – Fri from 10 pm – 6 am; rotating days off

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
• Performs direct care for consumers diagnosed with Intellectual Developmental Disorders (IDD) in a residential setting
• Responsibilities will include transporting, preparations of meals, feedings, bathing, toileting, medication administration, maintaining a safe and clean environment and other duties associated with daily living
• Adheres to TPC Code of Conduct and reports concerns of ethical and/or business standards defined in code if compromised

Required qualifications to be successful in the job:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of eighth grade reading-comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE) test; or
• One semester (12 semester hours) of accredited college work
• Six (6) months to one (1) year of work experience assisting in therapeutic activities
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:

• Some experience working with individuals with IDD diagnoses
