Substance Use Services

Outpatient substance use treatment emphasizes alcohol, and drug use prevention, through education, counseling, peer supports and other interventions to help individuals maintain sobriety.

Outreach Screening and Referral (OSAR) is the first point of contact for those seeking substance use treatment services.

Eligibility – Texas Residents with no health insurance that live in the top 22 counties of the Texas Panhandle with a substance use problem. This includes adults and adolescents. Individuals will be evaluated to determine if the person is experiencing a substance use problem. The evaluation includes information that will help determine if the individual would qualify for inpatient or outpatient substance use care.

How do I access services? Screenings are completed by appointment. To access this service, call 806.349.5644. These screenings can be conducted in English or Spanish. If additional translation services are required, arrangements will be coordinated with the referring agencies

Where is OSAR located? OSAR screenings are conducted at various locations throughout the Panhandle catchment area. The address in Amarillo is 723 North Taylor.

P.A.D.R.E. Parenting Awareness and Drug Risk Education

Eligibility – Parents, who are Texas residents, with the youngest child up to six years old; or expectant parents who have one or more risk factors for substance use disorder as identified in the PADRE screening
