Veterans Services Program

Mission: To provide outreach to veterans and their families through confidential peer support groups, direct access to appropriate trauma, mental health, addiction and other veteran support services.

Outreach Services

The Military Veteran Peer Network provides coordination and service provision to SMVFs within a 21 county service area.
The program provides peer support services, trainings, referrals and information to justice involved Veterans, and provides linkage for vital community partners. All services are confidential. Veterans Outreach Services are provided in the following counties: Dallam, Sherman, Hansford, Ochiltree, Lipscomb, Hartley, Moore, Hutchinson, Roberts, Hemphill, Oldham, Potter, Carson, Gray, Wheeler, Deaf Smith, Randall, Armstrong, Donley, Collingsworth, and Hall.

Cost of Services:

  • This program is provided at no cost to veterans or their families; services are funded through a Texas Department of Health Services grant.

Services Include:

  • Peer Support Groups are led by certified/trained volunteers
  • Free, certified training available to volunteers who want to facilitate their own peer support groups and certified training of Military Culture Competence
  • Additional trainings include suicide prevention (AS+K and CALM), MHFA, and other
  • Referrals and information to resources and community support services
  • Engage Justice Involved Veterans to assist in appropriate resources and information
  • Collaboration and networking with additional community partners
