Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
- Includes but not limited to daily operation of Accounting Services including payroll processing reconciliations, contract billings, journal entries, budgeting, and cost reporting
- Performs complex accounting work
- Work involves preparing or supervising internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports required by local, state, and federal authorities as well as other records, documents, and reports
- May specialize in some phase of accounting work such as federal funds accounting, property and equipment control, cost or payroll
- May supervise technical and/or clerical staff performing accounting and budget activities
- Works under limited supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment
Required qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an Accounting major or other related fields
- Four (4) years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, or related business experience
- Proficient in computer usage, experience in Microsoft Excel
- Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:
- Experience in Governmental or cost accounting and payroll processing
