Salary Range:

Salary: $81,660.00 Annually

Shift Available: Full-time

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • The Registered Nurse II (RN II) provides routine nursing services providing for the optimum health of individuals
  • The RN II provides training in health-related skills, completes assessments, and provides assistance in the activities of daily living
  • The RN II documents services provided in the individual’s record; rotates with other nurses for after hours and weekend “on call” nursing coverage; and ensures nursing services are delivered in compliance with the principles and standards of Home and Community-based Services, Texas Home Living, General Revenue Services, Texas Board of Nurse Examiners rules and regulations, local, state, and federal statues/laws applicable to service delivery
  • The RN II works under the moderate supervisor of the Director of IDD Nursing or his designee, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement

Required qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in nursing from an accredited program
  • One (1) year of work experience as an RN in a recognized health agency, hospital, or health care facility
  • Licensed through the Texas State Board of Nursing Examiner (TXBNE) as a Registered Nurse (RN), plus one (1) year of work experience as an RN in a recognized health agency, hospital, or healthcare facility
  • License must be current and in good standing
  • Must be able to demonstrate compliance with a TXBNE’s rules and regulations to maintain required license
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred qualifications to be successful in the job:

  • Ability to self-initiate work responsibilities
  • Ability to recognize and give a necessary response to situations determined by staffing patters, work schedule, behavior of a client or symptoms of illness
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments and with flexible time schedules
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Some experience working with special needs individuals and/or individuals with developmental disabilities
